Journalism
During our visit to the newspaper we learnt a lot about journalists’ life and work. In the morning they work outdoors, interviewing people, making photos, attending press conferences, and always running for something interesting to tell to the readers. At midday they arrive to the newspaper and sit to write the articles and organize the visual material (photos, drawings, etc), but they have to be ready to change everything if something important happens and they have to start once again. This is the reason why they don’t have fixed working hours; they have to be ready twenty-four hours per day!
The advantage of being a journalist is that you learn new things everyday, open to new issues and controversies, and never fall into the routine. One of the most important qualities that you must have is curiosity.
The disadvantage is that they are paid poor salaries and their timetable is a nightmare. There are a lot of unemployed journalists and the number is increasing because of the economical recession.
